Today, on Veterans Day (11/11/22), Mr. Elliott will play Taps in the hallway as we begin the day thinking about this holiday. At the beginning of each period, student volunteers will read a letter sent by a service member during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and the War in Afghanistan. We hope this reveals more of the personal and human aspects of military service. During our Tribal Time session, a recorded interview with RESC employees and military veterans Adam VanMeter and Mike Loomis by students of Mr. Purdin's classes will be shown to all classes. After the video, students will be asked to write a brief "thank you" or "appreciation" letter to veterans. These letters will be collected and sent to The Honor Flight Foundation. Mr. Elliott will close out the day with the playing of Taps again. Throughout the day students will be encouraged to view and read the letters written by several Veterans hanging on the hallway wall by Mr. Purdin’s classroom.
